In a statement posted on X, Zelensky said he expects negotiations with the Russian side to restart, but noted that the key question remains what form those discussions will take.
He explained that European countries favor a joint diplomatic track involving both the United States and European partners, while Ukraine’s proposed format has also received broad support.
The Ukrainian president said he is open to a direct bilateral meeting with Russia, but stressed that Ukraine’s international partners should be present during the process.
According to Zelensky, issues such as post-war security guarantees, Ukraine’s membership in the European Union, and other key matters require the involvement and support of Kyiv’s allies.
He added that Ukraine has given Russia the opportunity to choose its preferred format for future negotiations.

Zelensky made the remarks following a joint media appearance with Honduran President Nasry Asfura.
Analysts say the Ukrainian leader’s comments suggest that the long-stalled Russia-Ukraine peace process could regain momentum, although the structure of the talks and the role of international stakeholders remain under discussion.
