The blockade will take effect at 2000 GMT on July 14 and will cover all Iranian ports, oil terminals and coastal areas.
According to the advisory, the restrictions will apply to all vessel traffic regardless of nationality.
The JMIC said any vessel suspected of entering or leaving the blockaded area without authorisation would be subject to interception, diversion and seizure.
"Any vessel suspected of entering or departing the blockaded area without authorisation is subject to interception, diversion, and capture. Non-compliant vessels may be legally compelled with force," the advisory stated.
The centre clarified that neutral commercial transit through the Strait of Hormuz to or from destinations outside Iran would not be affected by the blockade.
