According to Iranian news agency Tasnim, President Pezeshkian stated that all provisions of the US–Iran memorandum of understanding are in Iran’s favour and that the outcomes of the negotiations will soon become clear to the world.
He said that US President Donald Trump, who had previously spoken about imposing various restrictions and sanctions on Iran, is now acknowledging the legitimate rights of the Iranian people and the state.
“The $6 billion of our assets in Qatar will be returned,” Pezeshkian said.
Referring to ongoing talks in Switzerland between Iran and the United States, the Iranian president also criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he would be “the most unhappy person” with the negotiations.

Pezeshkian stated that the US’s main condition is that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons, a position he said Iran’s leadership has repeatedly made clear in the past.
Citing a religious decree by the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, he reiterated, “We do not want a nuclear bomb. This is something our leadership has consistently stated.”
He further added that the United States asked Iran to formally document this position as part of the agreement, which Iran has signed.
The statement by President Pezeshkian is being viewed as a significant development in the ongoing US–Iran diplomatic process, as high-level delegations from both countries continue talks in Switzerland on implementing the memorandum, easing sanctions, releasing frozen assets, and reducing regional tensions.
