Sharing the design on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, "The USA s New Passport, which says, Welcome, but be good! " alongside an image of the commemorative passport.
The design features a stern-faced portrait of Trump leaning on his desk with his signature beneath it, while the text of the United States Declaration of Independence appears in the background. The image appears to be based on a portrait taken by White House photographer Daniel Torok.
The opposite page displays a painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, accompanied by the words "United States of America 250."
The White House also shared the passport design on social media, referring to it as the "Patriot Passport."
The United States Department of State, which had previously announced that a commemorative passport featuring custom artwork would be available from July 6, did not immediately comment on Trump s unveiled design.
According to a State Department official, the Trump-themed commemorative passports will only be available through in-person appointments in Washington and only while supplies last.
Since returning to office, Trump has increasingly placed his personal imprint on government institutions. Presidential banners have appeared outside several federal buildings, while the Treasury Department has announced that his signature will soon appear on the one-dollar bill.
Trump had also added his name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, although a court later ordered its removal.
If issued as announced, Trump will become the first sitting US president to be featured in Americans travel documents.
