According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, the two leaders had a telephone conversation that lasted about 90 minutes on Saturday, in which they discussed the Ukraine war and diplomatic efforts ahead of the upcoming NATO summit.

Ushakov said that Trump once again expressed his willingness to cooperate for an early end to the fighting and a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis, while Russia reiterated its desire for a political solution to the conflict, taking into account its fundamental position.

On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also confirmed that he had a telephone conversation with President Trump on Saturday, in which the situation on the approximately 1,200-kilometer-long war front was discussed.

Zelensky said that there is a real possibility of ending the war and that the US commitment will be decisive in this regard. The two leaders have agreed to continue talks on the sidelines of the NATO summit next week.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin accused Ukraine and its European allies of prolonging the war and increasing tensions, saying that Russian forces are continuously advancing in eastern Ukraine, but Ukraine has rejected the claim of occupying the important Russian city of Kostiantynivka.

It should be noted that the heads of state of 32 countries, including President Trump, will attend the NATO summit to be held in Ankara on July 7 and 8.
