Authorities said heavy rainfall is expected to continue through Tuesday, with some areas facing extremely intense downpours. The storm is carrying large amounts of tropical moisture northward, creating a prolonged flow of humid air across northern China.
In Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province, videos shared on Chinese social media showed a lighthouse breaking away from its high-voltage power line and drifting through flooded streets before passing under a bridge.

Schools and training institutions across affected areas have been ordered to suspend classes, while transport services have been severely disrupted in several northeastern cities, including Shenyang and Jilin.
Typhoon Bavi, which formed over the Pacific Ocean 13 days ago, has grown to an area roughly the size of France. Despite making landfall in eastern China on Saturday night, the storm remained largely intact on Monday, making it the longest-lasting tropical cyclone in the Asia-Pacific region this year.
Chinese meteorologists said Bavi’s unusual strength and long duration are linked to its well-preserved warm core, which has allowed the storm to retain significant moisture as it moves north toward the Korean Peninsula.
The storm, currently classified as a tropical storm, is expected to bring more intense rainfall as it slows down and releases the large amount of moisture it has accumulated.
