In a post on X (formerly Twitter) and during an address to judicial officials on Sunday, Khamenei said that victims ranged from newborn children to elderly citizens, adding that the country s senior military and political leaders had also been targeted.

He said that statements made by certain US and Israeli officials amounted to admissions of responsibility and could serve as key evidence in future legal proceedings.

Khamenei stated that every killing represents "thousands of legal cases" and that these cases should be brought before regional and international courts to secure justice for the victims and protect the rights of the Iranian nation.

He instructed Iran s judiciary to pursue effective legal action, both domestically and internationally, seeking compensation for the damage caused to the country, its people, and the state by US and Israeli attacks since last year.

According to Khamenei, remarks made by some American and Israeli leaders constitute acknowledgments of criminal responsibility and provide a legal basis for pursuing Iran s claims.

He added that hundreds, if not thousands, of legal cases could be filed based on those killed, injured, and the destruction caused during the US and Israeli attacks on Iran in June 2025 and February 2026.

Referring to the deaths of children in Minab and Lamerd, as well as attacks on medical facilities, public service infrastructure, and other civilian sites, Khamenei described the incidents as serious war crimes involving victims from newborns to the elderly.

He further said that just as investigations were conducted into the causes of the Second World War, attempts to trigger a Third World War should also be investigated so that similar crimes can be prevented in the future.

Khamenei stressed that those responsible should be held accountable under international law.

He also said that achieving justice, ending war and corruption, and protecting public rights require effective use of modern technology, stronger intelligence systems, enforcement of laws, and a robust judicial system.

According to Khamenei, the judiciary s responsibilities extend beyond handling individual cases and include safeguarding public rights, protecting legal freedoms, ensuring justice, combating corruption, defending national interests, and upholding the rule of law. He added that effective legal measures could also help prevent similar incidents in the future.
