US Vice President JD Vance arrived in Switzerland on Sunday morning, where he will discuss the progress of the interim agreement with Iran and its practical implementation.
On the other hand, an Iranian delegation has also arrived in Switzerland on Saturday night, which includes Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and other senior officials.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have also arrived in Switzerland to participate in the negotiations. Pakistan is being described as the main facilitator and mediator of this agreement.
The talks come as the 60-day ceasefire and reconciliation framework agreed between Iran and the United States face several challenges.
The agreement includes a ceasefire in Lebanon, negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, the restoration of the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of the US naval blockade, and issues related to frozen Iranian assets. However, questions are being raised about the implementation of the agreement due to the continuation of Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has described the Israeli actions as a violation of the ceasefire and warned that if the attacks in Lebanon do not stop, shipping near the Strait of Hormuz could be at risk.

On the other hand, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has claimed that 55 commercial ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz safely on Saturday, while more than 17 million barrels of oil left for global markets. The US military says it will ensure the continuity of commercial shipping in the region.
US President Donald Trump has also made it clear that no tariffs will be imposed on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz during the ceasefire, but if the talks fail, the US may consider imposing new conditions in the future.
Mohammad Mokhbar, an adviser to the Iranian Supreme Leader, has accused the US of not fully implementing the first clause of the agreement, namely a ceasefire on all fronts, especially in Lebanon. He said that if the agreement is not implemented, energy supplies to the region could be affected.
According to analysts, the Iranian delegation wants progress in the talks, especially on points such as a ceasefire in Lebanon, the end of the US naval blockade, the full restoration of the Strait of Hormuz, the return of frozen Iranian assets and the lifting of sanctions on the oil and petrochemical sectors.
On the other hand, the situation in Lebanon remains tense. According to Lebanese media, dozens of people have been killed in Israeli attacks, while Hezbollah has also claimed new operations against Israeli forces.
Israel says its operations are being carried out in response to Hezbollah attacks, while Hezbollah maintains that Israel has committed numerous ceasefire violations.
