According to Iranian media reports, the funeral prayer for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was led by his elder son, Ayatollah Seyyed Mostafa Khamenei. After the prayer, his body was buried with full respect and religious honors at the shrine of Imam Reza.

Large crowds gathered on the streets of Mashhad to pay their final respects to the Iranian leader. People from different cities attended the funeral and mourning ceremonies, offering prayers and tributes in his memory.

Reports said the mourning ceremonies for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei continued for several days, with gatherings held in several major religious and political cities across Iran and the region, including Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad.

Iranian news agencies reported that millions of people participated in these ceremonies, while special prayer gatherings were organized at various religious sites. The burial ceremony in Mashhad held particular significance as the Imam Reza Shrine is considered one of the most important religious sites in Iran.

Before the burial, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s body was transferred from Najaf to Iran and later transported to Mashhad under special arrangements. Iranian Air Force aircraft provided security support for the plane carrying the body until it arrived at Mashhad Airport.

Iranian media reported that the body was also taken to the shrines of Imam Hussain and Hazrat Abbas in Karbala, where funeral prayers and special gatherings were held. A large number of mourners and religious devotees participated in the ceremonies.

Iranian officials said additional mourning events will be held in honor of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. A special condolence gathering is expected to take place at the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh, with the participation of religious and political figures.

Iranian leadership and citizens continue to pay tribute to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, while mourning ceremonies and official condolences remain underway across the country.
