According to Bangladeshi media reports, a Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying his body arrived in Dhaka from Singapore on Sunday evening. His body was wrapped in the national flag, a solemn sign of respect and honor.
In an official statement, the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser announced that Sharif Osman Hadi’s funeral prayer will be held tomorrow at 2:00 pm at the South Plaza of the Bangladeshi Parliament.
The statement also urged attendees not to bring bags or heavy items. For security reasons, flying drones in and around the Parliament House has been strictly banned.

Yunus declared a one day national mourning on Saturday to honor the late
leader. National flags will be flown at half mast as the country remembers his
sacrifice.
Sharif Osman Hadi passed away on Thursday night at Singapore General Hospital. He had suffered critical head injuries after being shot during an election campaign in the Puranapaltan area of Dhaka on December 12.
Initially, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Evercare Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was taken to Singapore on December 15 for advanced treatment, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
His death has left a deep mark on Bangladesh’s student politics, with supporters remembering him as a bold voice, a committed activist, and a symbol of resistance whose words and actions will not be forgotten.
