According to Iranian media, President Peshkeshian issued a statement on the social networking website X, saying that the inhuman sanctions and continued hostility imposed by the US and its allies are the root causes of the Iranian people’s economic problems. He said that an attack on the Supreme Leader is not just an attack on one person but on the entire nation.

Earlier, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei had said in a statement that former US President Donald Trump was the main responsible for the recent riots and the deaths that occurred during them. According to him, people associated with foreign elements have caused destruction and killings in Iran.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump, in an interview, demanded the end of Ayatollah Khamenei’s leadership and said that the time has come to find a new leadership in Iran.

It should be recalled that peaceful protests by businessmen in Iran intensified late last month when rioters rioted in various cities, damaged government property, and targeted civilians, including security personnel. Iran has accused the United States and Israel of backing the protesters and that foreign intelligence agencies aided the saboteurs.
