The quake occurred at a depth of 181 kilometres and was felt across Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.

In Bagram’s Ghusfandara area, a residential house collapsed, killing all eight members of a single family including a father, mother, four daughters, and two sons.

Provincial spokesperson Hafiz Basharat said that although deep earthquakes usually cause less surface damage, the presence of mud brick houses and weak infrastructure in rural Afghanistan made the area highly vulnerable.

Residents in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit Baltistan reported feeling the tremors, while parts of Indian administered Kashmir also experienced the earthquake.
