He spoke about the hardships faced by persecuted Christians and commended community and faith leaders from the United Kingdom and the Middle East for their commitment to service.
He said that it was a joy to gather at Westminster Abbey to celebrate the light, hope, and peace of Advent. He added that this period is meant for preparing ourselves and looking forward to the wonder of Christ’s birth.
The King said that the gathering offered a moment for prayer, reflection, and music, and for celebrating the Good News. He noted that many Christians face difficulty in openly practising their faith and expressed happiness that church leaders, representatives of other faiths, and charity workers from different regions were part of the event.
The King’s message comes at a time when reports suggest that Prince Harry has succeeded in securing a review of the earlier decision that denied him taxpayer funded security. The new development may allow him to present his case again before the Home Office.
If the review results in a favourable decision, Prince Harry may receive police protection during his visits to the United Kingdom. This could open the possibility for him to travel with his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
