Sinner produced a dominant display on Centre Court, overpowering the 39-year-old Serbian with powerful serving and relentless groundstrokes to reach his seventh Grand Slam final.
Earlier in the day, second seed Alexander Zverev defeated British wildcard Arthur Fery 7-6(0), 6-2, 6-4 to become the first German man to reach the Wimbledon singles final since Boris Becker in 1995.
Sinner will now chase his fifth Grand Slam title on Sunday, while Zverev will look to complete a French Open-Wimbledon double after claiming his maiden major title last month.
Djokovic s record hopes suffer another setback
The defeat marked Djokovic s fifth loss in his last six Grand Slam semi-finals, dealing another blow to his pursuit of a record 25th major title that would move him ahead of Margaret Court.
The Centre Court crowd repeatedly chanted "Nole, Nole" in support of the Serbian, but Sinner gave him few opportunities, firing 16 aces and losing only six points on his first serve.
After the match, Sinner praised his opponent s enduring influence on the sport.
"It s the most special tournament we have and it means a lot to me, of course, playing against Novak," Sinner said.
"He is still a true inspiration not only for you guys, but also for the new generation. What he s doing is incredible."
Djokovic admitted he had no answer to Sinner s level of tennis.
"It was a good old blowout, nothing much I could do," he told reporters.
"He was just a level or more better than I was. I was just not sharp enough. He was at cruising speed and I could not catch him."
Despite the defeat, Djokovic said he intends to return to Wimbledon next year for another attempt.
Sinner in complete control
Top seed Sinner, who survived a five-set scare against Serbia s Miomir Kecmanovic in the opening rounds, has steadily improved throughout the tournament.
Against Djokovic, he did not face a break point for nearly two hours and saved the only one he encountered with an ace.
Djokovic, who had spent more than 16 hours on court en route to his eighth consecutive Wimbledon semi-final, struggled to match Sinner s intensity.
The decisive moment in the opening set came when Sinner broke serve in the ninth game with a blistering backhand winner down the line before serving out the set.
The Italian broke again midway through the second set and secured an early break in the third, leaving Djokovic unable to mount a comeback.
Zverev ends Fery s fairytale
In the first semi-final, Zverev brought an end to Arthur Fery s remarkable Wimbledon run.
The British wildcard challenged the German in a closely contested opening set before Zverev took control with his powerful baseline game to seal victory in straight sets.
The win sends Zverev into his first Wimbledon final, where he will face Sinner in a clash between two of the sport s leading stars.
"I stay focused. I stay hungry. I want more. I want to continue playing at the best level and continue winning," Zverev said.
"I hope I m able to do that, and again on Sunday I have another big chance."
