Mohammad Yousuf participated in the IBSF World Snooker Championship held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1994. Coming from a modest background and lacking modern facilities, few could have predicted at the time that he would go on to achieve major international honours for Pakistan.
He soon established himself in the world of snooker through his outstanding performances and brought pride to the country by winning the Asian Snooker Championship in 1998. Later, in 2006, he secured another major milestone by winning the World Masters title, considered one of the most significant achievements in Pakistan’s snooker history.
His contributions, however, were not limited to trophies alone. Mohammad Yousuf dedicated his life to the sport and continues to train young players while actively promoting snooker in Pakistan.
Despite his achievements, he has repeatedly pointed out the lack of proper facilities, modern training centres and financial support for snooker players in Pakistan. According to him, Pakistani players can achieve even greater success internationally if the government and relevant institutions pay serious attention to the sport.
Players like Mohammad Yousuf remain an inspiration for the younger generation, proving that determination and talent can overcome even the toughest challenges while bringing recognition to Pakistan worldwide.
