The response, described as unusual and uplifting, reflects the league’s growing strength on the global stage.
According to the PCB, a total of 12 parties from five continents submitted their bids within the given deadline. These bidders come from the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, highlighting the PSL’s wide reach and rising appeal among international investors.
Officials stated that the results of the first phase of bidding will be announced on December 27. Only bidders who meet the technical requirements will move forward to the next stage, where the final selection will take place through an open and competitive bidding process.
The open bidding ceremony is scheduled for January 8 at the Islamabad Convention Centre, where the two new teams will officially be up for sale.
The PCB has assured all stakeholders that the entire process will be carried out in a transparent, fair, and professional manner, in line with international standards. This expansion is seen as a major step toward strengthening the PSL’s future and further boosting Pakistan’s cricket economy.
