The 32 year old fast bowler has been added to the USA squad for the T20 World Cup after Jasdeep Singh was ruled out due to a shoulder injury. With this change, Adil is now set to face Pakistan while wearing American colors a moment that blends past and present in a rare way.

Born in Gojra, Punjab, Ehsan Adil made his international debut for Pakistan in 2013 against South Africa. He played three Test matches, picking up five wickets, and later earned his ODI cap against Scotland the same year. In six One Day Internationals, he claimed four wickets and was also part of Pakistan’s 2015 World Cup squad. His last appearance for Pakistan came in the quarter final against Australia.

After stepping away from Pakistan cricket, Adil moved to the United States, where his career took a new turn. Ahead of the World Cup match, he officially received his USA cap, marking a fresh start on a global stage.

With this achievement, Ehsan Adil joins a very exclusive list. Before him, only Gul Mohammad had managed a similar feat. Gul Mohammad played two Test matches for India against Pakistan in 1952–53, later moved to Pakistan, and then represented Pakistan in a Test match against Australia.

Ehsan Adil’s journey is a reminder that cricket careers do not always move in straight lines. Sometimes, they cross borders, change colors, and still leave a lasting mark.
