Pakistan reached 288 for 2 wickets in 48.1 overs and required only one run from eleven balls when Babar celebrated his hundred. The right handed batter reached 101 runs from 118 deliveries. His innings included eight fours and showed complete control throughout the chase.

Mohammad Rizwan provided outstanding support at the other end with an unbeaten fifty from 54 balls. The partnership between Babar and Rizwan kept the required rate under control and ensured Pakistan remained dominant during the final phase of the match.

Sri Lanka had earlier posted 288 for 8 but Pakistan’s disciplined batting lineup responded with confidence. Fakhar Zaman set the foundation at the top while Babar’s presence held the innings together.

As Pakistan stood only one run away from sealing the win, Babar’s century became the highlight of the match and added another remarkable chapter to his one day career. The victory also put Pakistan in a strong position in the ongoing series.
