The win, achieved with 24.5 overs to spare, confirmed Pakistan’s 2-1 series triumph in Shaheen Shah Afridi’s first assignment as ODI captain.

After opting to bat first, South Africa began well with a 72-run opening partnership between Quinton de Kock (53 off 70 balls, 6x4s, 1x6) and Lhuandre Pretorius (39 off 45 balls, 4x4s, 1x6). Salman Ali Agha (4-0-18-2) broke the stand by removing Pretorius in the 15th over and then dismissed Tony de Zorzi in the 19th over, with the scoreboard reading 87-2.
Mohammad Nawaz (9-0-31-2) trapped de Kock lbw in the 25th over, triggering a collapse for the visitors at 106-3. Just four balls later, Abrar clean-bowled debutant Rubin Hermann for one.
Two overs afterward, Abrar struck twice more, removing Donovan Ferreira (7) and Corbin Bosch on consecutive deliveries to leave South Africa at 117-6. Nawaz added another wicket in the following over, dismissing Bjorn Fortuin.
The collapse continued when Pakistan dismissed skipper Matthew Breetzke in the 34th over, caught by Mohammad Rizwan off Abrar’s delivery, leaving South Africa 130-8. Shaheen Shah Afridi then cleaned up the tail, bowling the tourists out for 143 in 37.5 overs.
Abrar led the attack with career-best figures of 4-27 in 10 overs, while Nawaz, Agha, and Shaheen (4.5-0-18-2) took two wickets each.
Chasing 144, Pakistan reached the target in 25.1 overs for the loss of three wickets. Opener Saim Ayub anchored the chase with 77 off 70 balls, including 11 fours and a six.
Saim built a 64-run second-wicket partnership with Babar Azam (27 off 32 balls, 5x4s) and a 65-run third-wicket stand with Mohammad Rizwan (32 not out off 45 balls, 3x4s, 1x6).
For South Africa, Nandre Burger (1-29) and Bjorn Fortuin (1-34) claimed a wicket each.
