The Meta-owned messaging platform said the feature will enable users to generate summaries of multiple unread chats at once, covering both group conversations and individual messages. This is aimed at improving efficiency by eliminating the need to open each chat separately.
According to reports from WABetaInfo, the summaries will be generated using AI while maintaining user privacy. The company emphasised that the process will rely on secure “private processing,” ensuring that messages remain encrypted and inaccessible even to Meta during summarisation.
Once development is complete, the feature is expected to be rolled out initially to a limited number of beta testers before a wider release.
