According to a recent report by WABetaInfo, a new beta version of WhatsApp for iOS has revealed this innovative capability, tentatively named Scheduled Messages.
Unlike other major messaging apps, WhatsApp has surprisingly lagged behind in offering a built in scheduling tool a feature many consider basic and essential in daily communication.
Once available, users will be able to type their message in advance, choose the exact date and time they want it to be delivered, and then watch as the app automatically sends it on their behalf even if they’re busy or away.
The Scheduled Messages option is expected to be tucked away under the chat info screen, where users can also edit or delete scheduled messages before they’re delivered.
While this feature has appeared in the beta release, its widespread rollout to all users has not yet been confirmed timing remains uncertain.
Still, the introduction of message scheduling marks a notable leap forward for WhatsApp, bringing it closer to parity with competitors and answering a long standing user demand.
