Under the updated system, some Facebook pages and profiles can now gain access to the platform’s Content Monetization Tool after reaching 300,000 views within a 28-day period. The feature allows creators to generate revenue from videos, Reels, and other eligible content.
The move marks a major shift from Facebook’s previous requirements, which generally included at least 10,000 followers, 600,000 minutes of watch time, and a minimum number of uploaded videos before creators could qualify for monetization.
The relaxed criteria are expected to benefit new and emerging creators, many of whom previously struggled to meet the platform’s stricter thresholds. Industry observers say the change could encourage more users to create content and pursue digital income opportunities.
However, creators will still be required to comply with Facebook’s monetization policies, community standards, and eligibility requirements to access and maintain earning privileges.
According to reports, the updated monetization feature is not yet available to all users. Facebook is currently rolling out the changes to selected pages and profiles, with broader availability expected in the future.
The policy update comes as competition among social media platforms intensifies, with companies seeking to attract and retain content creators by offering more accessible monetization options.
