Musk emphasized that the human body ages in a coordinated way. ‘I have never seen someone grow old in one arm while the other stays young,’ he remarked, illustrating the idea of an internal biological clock guiding trillions of cells to age in unison. According to him, once this system is fully understood, solutions to aging could follow naturally.
The Tesla and SpaceX founder has previously explored the concept of digital immortality storing human memories, thoughts, and experiences in computers so that consciousness could continue even after the body perishes. Musk envisions that, in the future, this information might even travel beyond Earth, potentially surviving in space.
Yet Musk also issued a cautionary note. ‘If humans live too long, societies could stagnate, new ideas might struggle to emerge, and power could concentrate in too few hands,’ he warned. He added, ‘A certain measure of mortality is actually beneficial; otherwise, the world could feel lifeless.’
Although Musk did not outline a concrete plan or timeline to achieve these breakthroughs, his remarks open a door to bold speculation: a world where aging is optional, and death is no longer inevitable.
