According to international media reports, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking at the Berlin Global Dialogue Conference, revealed that Dela is soon to have 83 “children,” which will not be human infants but digital AI assistants. Each of these AI offspring will serve as a personal aide to one of the 83 members of Albania’s ruling Socialist Party in parliament.
The prime minister explained that each AI child will act as an assistant, attending parliamentary sessions, recording proceedings, taking notes, and even providing strategic suggestions to the lawmakers. “For instance,” Rama elaborated, “if a parliament member steps out to grab a coffee, their AI assistant will keep them informed about everything happening in the session — and even prepare a fitting counterargument against their opponents.”
Rama added that these AI “children” will be fully aware of their “mother,” Dela, and will operate in alignment with European Union laws and standards. They are expected to become fully functional by 2026.
It is worth noting that in September this year, Albania made history by introducing the world’s first AI-generated government minister.
Clad in traditional Albanian attire, the digital female minister named Dela — a name that translates to “the Sun” — addressed the nation by declaring: “I am not here to replace humans, but to assist them.”
