In a statement shared on social media notably written in Urdu the Iranian foreign minister expressed “heartfelt appreciation” for what he described as Pakistan’s clear and unwavering support during a difficult moment for Iran.
Araghchi said that both the government and the public of Pakistan had openly voiced unity and moral backing for Iran and its people. According to him, such support reflects the deep-rooted ties and long-standing cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
“This gesture in a sensitive and spiritual moment shows the strength of our relationship,” he noted, adding that Iran remains firm, patient, and determined in defending its sovereignty.
The Iranian minister emphasized that Iran is standing with steadfastness and resilience, relying on faith and national unity to protect its territorial integrity and independence.
Meanwhile, in an interview with CBS News, Araghchi addressed several key issues related to the ongoing conflict. He clarified that Iran has not requested a ceasefire and is not currently seeking negotiations with the United States.
During the interview, he also spoke openly about Iran’s stance on detained American citizens, the country’s nuclear program, and the strategic Strait of Hormuz a crucial global shipping route.
Araghchi did not hold back in his criticism of Donald Trump, arguing that the current conflict is a deliberate political choice made by Washington.
