During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the UN Charter, international law, and global agreements. He said Pakistan would continue playing a constructive role in promoting peaceful solutions to international conflicts.

The prime minister emphasized that strengthening the institutional role of the United Nations has become more important than ever amid current global challenges, including security threats, development issues, and human rights concerns.

Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the effective and impartial implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions is essential for maintaining global peace and stability. He said equal respect for international law and global principles is the foundation of a fair international system.

The prime minister highlighted that the three main pillars of the United Nations international peace and security, sustainable development, and human rights — are closely interconnected. He called for balanced progress in all these areas to address emerging global challenges.

Discussing the difficulties faced by developing countries, including economic pressures, climate-related challenges, and social issues, Shehbaz Sharif said the international community should adopt a collective strategy to support vulnerable nations and ensure timely progress toward sustainable development goals.

He reiterated that Pakistan has always supported multilateral cooperation, diplomacy, and dialogue as tools for resolving global issues. He said Pakistan would continue contributing to peace, development, and stability through the UN platform.

Rebecca Grynspan praised Pakistan’s long-standing and active contributions to the United Nations and said the country has played an important role in promoting peace, development, and international cooperation at various global forums.

She also appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability, saying that Pakistan’s role in supporting dialogue and reducing tensions has been recognized internationally.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed that strengthening the United Nations’ role is essential to effectively address current global challenges. They also emphasized expanding joint efforts for peace, justice, development, and international cooperation.
