According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two military leaders met at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where they discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, defence cooperation and avenues for enhanced military-to-military collaboration.
The visiting Libyan dignitary was presented a guard of honour by a tri-services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ.
During the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of deepening defence relations and increasing collaboration in professional military training and security-related fields.
Field Marshal Munir reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to promoting peace, stability and constructive engagement with friendly countries.
Lieutenant General Haftar praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their contributions to regional peace and security.
The visit follows an earlier trip by Libyan Arab Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar to Pakistan in February, when both sides also discussed regional security and professional military cooperation.
