In a significant development, the Federal Constitutional Court has raised no preliminary objections to the constitutional petition filed by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman against recent fuel price increases.

The court has officially assigned the petition Case No. 6/26, allowing the matter to proceed through the judicial process.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman filed the petition challenging both the increase in petroleum product prices and the imposition of the petroleum levy, arguing that the measures should be reviewed by the court.

With the petition now formally registered, the Constitutional Court is expected to take up the matter in accordance with legal procedures. The registration of the case does not indicate any ruling on the merits of the petition but marks the beginning of formal court proceedings.

Further hearings and any directions from the court are expected in the coming weeks.
