In his letter, Sohail Afridi stated that the way his visit was handled was not a simple mistake but a deliberate act.

He said the situation was neither accidental nor an administrative lapse, but an action that hurt the dignity of a constitutional office and damaged inter-provincial respect.

The KP Chief Minister said he visited Lahore as a representative of nearly forty million people, and what happened during the trip was unbecoming of an elected public leader.

He added that markets and public places were closed, citizens of Lahore were inconvenienced, and even motorway rest areas were kept shut.

Sohail Afridi further alleged that a negative social media campaign was launched against him during the visit.

He claimed that false narratives were spread, linking him to serious allegations, and that all of this happened under the watch of the Punjab government. According to him, these actions were aimed at damaging his reputation and humiliating him.

He wrote that such behavior weakens harmony between provinces and creates unnecessary tension among state units. Through the letter, he said, he was placing a strong protest on record and expected corrective steps to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future.

He also noted that the letter should remain part of official records for any constitutional, legal, or inter-provincial proceedings.

Earlier, while chairing a provincial cabinet meeting via video link, Sohail Afridi described the Punjab government’s conduct during his visit as undemocratic. He alleged that members of his cabinet were subjected to violence, and said the Punjab administration was suffering from moral and intellectual decline.

He warned that hostile attitudes during times of national unity are harmful for the country and directed officials to ensure that visiting delegations from other provinces are treated with respect and generosity beyond minimum requirements.
