The eighth annual gathering took place under the patronage of Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad and brought together individuals from diverse schools of thought.
Addressing the participants, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and Khateeb of Badshahi Mosque, underscored the importance of unity among Muslims.
He remarked that all Muslims are brothers whose hearts beat together, adding that the true essence of faith lies in unity. He also extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests and prayed for the acceptance of their حضور.
Dr Qaiser Rafiq, who attended as the chief guest, appreciated the contributions of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and emphasized that peace, love, and brotherhood are vital for Pakistan’s development. He described initiatives promoting unity as highly commendable.
Founder of Khayal-e-Nau, Syed Hunain Zaidi, thanked Maulana Azad for his support and reiterated the organization’s mission to spread the message of unity across the country.
He noted that their efforts have inspired several organizations nationwide to host similar inter-sect Iftar gatherings annually.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahzad Roshan Gillani, Secretary Information and a young social activist, said that the meaningful Iftar at a historic venue holds a unique place among Ramadan gatherings.
He added that with the support of religious leaders and national institutions, there is a vision to set a global record for interfaith and inter-sect harmony at the Badshahi Mosque.
Participants from various sects offered prayers led by Maulana Abdul Haziq, son of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
The event was attended by President Khayal-e-Nau Asad Awan, along with Aamir Kazmi, Meesam Shamsi, Wajahat Shah, Khawaja Osama Zeeshan, Tahseen Qadri, Shariq Ali Lahori, and others.
The gathering concluded with special prayers led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad for peace, prosperity, and stability in Pakistan, as well as prayers in support of Iran.
