Instagram has introduced a new Replace Audio feature, allowing users to update the background music of previously published feed posts while keeping their existing engagement intact.
According to a statement from Meta, users will be able to replace the soundtrack of an old post without affecting its likes, comments, shares, or overall reach. The company said the feature is designed to give creators and everyday users greater control over content they have already published.

Previously, anyone who wanted to change the background music of an older Instagram post had to delete the post and upload it again, resulting in the loss of engagement and visibility. The new feature removes that limitation by allowing users to swap the audio directly from the original post.
To use the feature, users need to open a previously published feed post, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, select Edit, and choose the option to replace the existing audio track.
Instagram has started rolling out the Replace Audio feature gradually, and it is expected to become available to all users in the coming weeks.
The update follows Instagram s recent expansion of its Algorithm Personalization feature, which is now available to all users, as Meta continues to introduce new tools aimed at improving the content creation and editing experience.
