During the ceremony, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem.

On the occasion, he emphasized the message of unity and solidarity, stating that Pakistan Day reminds the nation of the historic moment when Muslims of the subcontinent laid the foundation for an independent homeland by presenting the Pakistan Resolution.


He noted that Pakistan came into existence as a result of the struggles and sacrifices of the country’s forefathers, adding that the day calls for collective responsibility, national unity, and continued efforts to place Pakistan among the developed nations of the world.

The ambassador also highlighted the strong brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, describing the defense cooperation between the two countries as positive and beneficial for both sides.

Special messages from the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were also read out during the ceremony. These messages were presented by diplomatic officers Kiran Akbar, Moawadh Kiani, and Saeed Aziz, respectively.
