Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan, its people, and armed forces achieved a historic success in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos with the help of Allah, while the enemy faced defeat and humiliation.
The event was attended by senior military leadership, including the air force and naval chiefs, who laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Monument and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers.
Marka-e-Haq refers to the 19-day military confrontation between Pakistan and India from April 22 to May 10, 2025. The conflict began after India launched attacks on Pakistan following an incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Field Marshal Munir said the conflict was not merely a war between two countries but a battle between “two ideologies” in which truth prevailed. He stated that the enemy attempted to test Pakistan’s national resolve and dignity but failed in its objectives.
He said Pakistan’s armed forces shot down advanced enemy aircraft and targeted military installations, adding that Pakistan’s missile systems successfully struck more than 26 enemy military targets during the conflict.
The army chief further stated that India wanted to isolate Pakistan militarily and diplomatically but would never succeed in imposing its dominance over the country. He said the entire nation stood united in defence of the homeland during the confrontation.
Field Marshal Munir also reiterated Pakistan’s continued support for Kashmir and said future wars would increasingly involve modern warfare technologies including drones, cyber capabilities, artificial intelligence, and long-range weapon systems.
