The army chief made the remarks while addressing a ceremony at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi marking the 99th anniversary of the founding of China s People s Liberation Army (PLA), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong attended the ceremony as the chief guest. China s Defence Attaché Major General Wang Zhong, officials of the Chinese Embassy and senior officers from Pakistan s three armed services were also present.
Field Marshal Munir welcomed the guests and congratulated the PLA on its 99th founding anniversary.
He paid tribute to the PLA s contributions to China s defence, national development and efforts to promote international peace and security.
Highlighting bilateral ties, the army chief said Pakistan-China relations had stood the test of time and remained resilient despite changing regional and global circumstances.
He said the armed forces of Pakistan and the PLA were true partners, bound by mutual trust, unwavering support and a shared commitment to regional peace, stability and the protection of common strategic interests.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Jiang thanked Field Marshal Munir for hosting the event.
The Chinese envoy acknowledged the Pakistan armed forces sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed Beijing s continued support for Pakistan.
He also reiterated China s commitment to further strengthening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries.
