In a post on X, the chief minister thanked all those involved in the campaign and said barren land across the province had been transformed into green forests.

She said over 3,085 tree plantation rows have been developed as part of the drive, adding that Punjab s history has never witnessed such a large-scale environmental initiative. "Planting 50 million trees is only the beginning of Punjab s green revolution," Maryam Nawaz said.

She expressed confidence that, by the grace of Allah, Punjab would emerge as a province known for its forests, clean air, and healthy rivers in the coming years.

Calling the two-year plantation campaign a major environmental achievement, the chief minister said the vision of a greener Punjab, conceived two years ago, is now becoming a reality.

She added that tree plantation has been carried out across the province, from Bahawalpur to Dera Ghazi Khan, Murree to Muzaffargarh, Chichawatni to Faisalabad, and Rahim Yar Khan to Gujranwala.

Maryam Nawaz described afforestation as a gift for future generations and highlighted the use of advanced technology to protect Punjab s forests.

She said the Punjab Forest Department is using a GIS laboratory for aerial monitoring of forests, while a command and control center equipped with artificial intelligence, drones, and satellite imagery is conducting real-time surveillance.

According to the chief minister, digital monitoring enables authorities to quickly detect illegal logging, encroachments, and forest fires.

She added that the department is utilizing Landsat, Sentinel, SPOT, and WorldView satellite technologies to strengthen digital forest monitoring.

"Our forests are a national asset, and protecting them is essential to ensuring a green future," she said, urging citizens to plant a tree and become part of the mission for a greener Punjab.
