In a message shared on Instagram Stories, the pop star apologized to fans, saying she had been battling the illness for several days and trying to recover, but her condition had deteriorated. She added that her doctor strongly advised her not to perform, acknowledging she would not be able to deliver the level of performance her audience deserves.
Gaga had been scheduled to perform three shows at the Bell Centre in Montreal, with the first two successfully held on April 2 and 3. The canceled show marked a setback as she nears the end of the 2026 leg of her Mayhem Ball tour.
Despite the cancellation, her remaining tour dates, including upcoming performances in Saint Paul, Minnesota on April 9 and 10, are still expected to go ahead. She is also set to conclude the tour with a final show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 13.
Addressing her Montreal fans, Gaga expressed deep regret, saying she was “heartbroken” over the cancellation and apologizing to those who had made plans to attend. She described her earlier performances in the city as “magical and deeply meaningful.”
Over the past year, Gaga has been touring in support of her album Mayhem, released in March last year, which recently won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. The project marked her return to mainstream pop following Chromatica in 2020.
Beyond music, Gaga has remained active with other creative ventures, including a collaboration album with Tony Bennett and her role in Joker: Folie à Deux, for which she also contributed a companion album. She has also recently teamed up with Doechii on a new track titled “Runway,” featured in the upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
