According to a press release, the agenda reflects SBP s focus on addressing emerging challenges such as rapid technological advancements, recurring supply shocks, climate change, and persistent structural economic issues.
The central bank said the agenda is aligned with its statutory objectives and the SBP Vision 2028, providing a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen the analytical foundations of policymaking and regulatory design.
The research agenda is structured around three strategic themes:
- Inflation Dynamics and Monetary Policy
- Financial Sector Deepening, Stability, and Efficiency
- Structural Transformation and Economic Growth
According to the SBP, the agenda will guide research efforts over the next three years, helping to address critical knowledge gaps and further strengthen the analytical basis for macroeconomic policy decisions.
The central bank noted that the agenda also highlights the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in tackling emerging economic and financial sector challenges.
As part of the research framework outlined in the agenda, the SBP intends to actively engage and collaborate with academics, policy researchers, government institutions, and other external stakeholders at both individual and institutional levels.
The initiative is expected to enhance evidence-based policymaking and support the development of more effective economic and financial sector policies in Pakistan.
