Kashmir Solidarity Day, formally known as Youm e Yakjehti e Kashmir, is observed every year on February 5 across Pakistan and by Kashmiri communities around the world. The day serves as a symbolic pause to express unity and support for the people of Kashmir.

This public holiday is dedicated to showing collective solidarity with the Kashmiri people, who continue their long standing struggle for self determination and freedom.

By closing financial markets, the country marks the day not just with words, but with a shared national gesture that reflects empathy, remembrance, and resolve.
