Speaking at the launch ceremony of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s economic governance reforms, the Finance Minister emphasized the importance of establishing financial buffers to maintain economic stability.
‘We faced one of the worst floods in 2025,’ Aurangzeb said. ‘Yet, this year, we did not need international aid because our economy had built-in safeguards.’
He added that economic indicators are moving in the right direction, with inflation now in single digits. Investor confidence has improved thanks to reforms, and the stock market is showing significant gains, hovering around 175,000 points, driven by strong liquidity.
Looking ahead, the Finance Minister highlighted that 16 new Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) are expected in 2026, reflecting positive momentum in the market. ‘These indicators signal a bright horizon for Pakistan’s economy,’ he said.
The remarks come as the government continues its push for structural economic reforms, aiming to stabilize the market, attract investment, and strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global economic landscape.
