According to the notification, the Ministry has immediately revoked SRO 760(I)/2025 dated May 6, 2025, clearing the way for normal trade activity to resume. This development follows the Economic Coordination Committee’s (ECC) approval of the proposal, which was subsequently endorsed by the federal cabinet.
The Ministry further clarified that the suspension period, originally introduced under SRO 760(I)/2013 dated September 2, 2013 has now been waived accordingly, ensuring exporters can once again operate with long-awaited clarity and confidence.
Industry insiders say the decision has “breathed new life into the gold trade,” a sector that had been standing in limbo. Traders describe the notification as a “timely relief,” noting that the gold market relies heavily on predictable timelines and stable policies.
With the new order in place, exporters expect a revival of market activity, hoping that this long-delayed clarity will act as a springboard for renewed business momentum in the coming months.
