In simpler terms, gold is not just getting expensive، it’s steadily moving out of reach for many.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of 10 grams of gold also climbed by Rs 2,401, settling at Rs 410,461. This comes right after Monday’s sharp increase of Rs 3,900 per tola, showing a clear upward trend that doesn’t seem to slow down.
So, what’s driving this surge? The answer lies beyond local markets. In the global arena, gold prices rose by $28 per ounce, reaching $4,560 (including a $20 premium). When international prices move, countries like Pakistan، which rely heavily on imports feel the ripple effect almost instantly.
And it’s not just gold. Silver followed the same path, gaining Rs 260 per tola and reaching Rs 7,784, quietly echoing the same upward momentum.
This steady rise paints a bigger picture:
when global uncertainty grows, investors rush toward gold as a “safe haven,”
pushing prices even higher.
The real question now is, is this just another spike, or the beginning of a longer, more expensive trend?
