In the local bullion market, the price of gold per tola jumped by Rs2,300, reaching Rs475,662. The steady rise reflects strong global demand and ongoing uncertainty in international markets, which often pushes investors toward safe haven assets like gold.

Similarly, the price of 10 gram gold increased by Rs1,972 and was sold at Rs407,803, according to rates released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

Just a day earlier, on Friday, gold had already shown strength, gaining Rs500 to settle at Rs473,362 per tola, indicating that the market was already in an upward mood.

On the global front, gold prices climbed by $23 to reach $4,533 per ounce, including a premium of $20. Analysts say the rise is linked to cautious investor sentiment and ongoing shifts in global economic expectations.

Meanwhile, silver stole some of the spotlight as its price surged by Rs462 per tola, reaching Rs8,407 the highest level ever recorded. The sharp increase suggests growing interest in silver as both an industrial metal and a store of value.

Market experts believe that as long as global prices remain firm, local rates are likely to stay on the higher side, keeping buyers watchful and investors alert in the days ahead.
