According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola fell by Rs3,094, bringing the new rate down to Rs452,233.

The decline was also reflected in smaller quantities, with the price of 10 grams of gold dropping by Rs2,785 to settle at Rs386,987.

The local market followed the trend seen internationally, where gold prices slipped by $30 per ounce. As a result, the global bullion rate stood at $4,297 per ounce.

The latest drop highlights how quickly gold prices can react to shifts in international markets. While the precious metal remains a preferred safe-haven asset during periods of uncertainty, short-term corrections continue to create volatility for investors and buyers alike.

For consumers planning weddings, investments, or jewellery purchases, the decline marks a rare pause in an otherwise strong upward trend that has kept gold near record levels in recent months.
