According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold jumped by Rs21,200 per tola, pushing it to an all-time high of Rs572,862 per tola across the country. This sudden spike has deepened worries among consumers, especially those planning weddings or long-term investments.

In the same wave of price pressure, 10 grams of gold rose by Rs18,175, settling at Rs491,136. Traders say the market is moving at an unusually fast pace, leaving little room for price stability.

The rally is not limited to Pakistan alone. In the international market, gold prices surged by $212, reaching $5,505 per ounce, reflecting strong global demand and growing uncertainty in financial markets.

Market experts note that gold has been on a relentless rise since the start of the year. In January 2026 alone, gold prices have already increased by Rs115,900, making it one of the sharpest monthly jumps in recent history.

With prices climbing at such speed, many buyers are stepping back, while investors continue to see gold as a safe shelter in shaky economic times. If the current trend holds, the yellow metal may remain out of reach for ordinary consumers in the days ahead.
