According to the local bullion association, domestic prices followed suit. The rate for one tola of 24-karat gold increased by Rs 2,300, reaching Rs 438,862. Likewise, the price of 10 grams of gold rose Rs 1,972, settling at Rs 376,253.
Market analysts note that gold continues to behave like a safe harbor asset, attracting buyers whenever global uncertainty casts a long shadow on the financial landscape. They describe the current trend as a steady climb fueled by cautious optimism.
Just a day earlier, the international market saw an even sharper leap, with gold rising $77 to reach $4,142 per ounce. That surge had already pushed local rates significantly higher, sending the per tola price up by Rs 7,700 to Rs 436,562.
Traders say the back to back increases are a reminder that gold prices can turn on a dime, especially when global markets shuffle between stability and tension. For ordinary buyers, the constant swings make gold feel more like a moving target than a predictable investment.
Despite this, many investors continue to seek gold as a financial shelter in stormy weather, saying the metal still carries a sense of reliability when other markets feel shaky.
