In the global bullion market, gold shed $33, falling to $4,080 per ounce — a sharp correction reflecting a cooling demand amid international economic fluctuations.
Following the global trend, local gold prices in Pakistan also registered a steep decline. The price of gold per tola plunged by Rs3,300, settling at Rs430,362, while the price of 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs2,829, reaching Rs368,966.
It is worth noting that on Saturday, gold prices had risen by Rs1,800 per tola, closing at Rs433,662 — highlighting the market’s ongoing volatility and short-term speculative movement.
Meanwhile, silver prices also experienced a dip, falling by Rs27 per tola to Rs5,097.
This recent slide in precious metal rates underscores the fragility of investor sentiment and the influence of global market shifts on domestic pricing trends.
