According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of one tola of gold has surged to Rs550,562 after recording an increase of over Rs10,000. The sudden spike has added fresh pressure on local markets where gold is often seen as a safe place to park savings.
The association further reported that the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs8,574, reaching Rs472,018. This rapid climb reflects a market that is not just active, but visibly restless.
Meanwhile, in the international arena, gold prices also moved north. In the global bullion market, the price of gold increased by $100 per ounce, settling at $5,278. The rise in global rates has played a key role in pushing domestic prices higher, as Pakistan’s gold market closely follows international trends.
Market watchers say the rally is fueled by a mix of global uncertainty, currency fluctuations, and investors seeking safer ground. When economic clouds gather, gold often shines brighter and this time is no different.
For many buyers, especially those planning weddings or long-term investments, the surge feels like a tough pill to swallow. Yet for investors holding gold, the spike offers a silver lining.
As volatility lingers in global markets, traders expect prices to remain on edge. Whether this is a temporary jump or the start of a longer upward run remains to be seen, but for now, gold is clearly stealing the spotlight.
