According to a statement issued by refinery officials, the oil tanker carrying U.S. crude reached the Sonmiani Energy Complex (Synergyco) Oil Terminal, with a total cargo of one million barrels of crude oil.
The statement further revealed that another vessel carrying American crude oil is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan next month. The ship Pegasus, laden with U.S. crude, had departed from Houston on September 14.
Refinery officials described this as the largest oil tanker ever to reach Pakistan, carrying a total of 135,000 tons of crude oil.
This development marks a significant milestone in Pakistan–U.S. economic relations, signaling the practical implementation of their recent trade accord. The arrival of American crude oil reflects both countries’ interest in expanding energy cooperation and diversifying Pakistan’s import sources amid global oil market shifts.
